Books I Be Readin

I've recently realized that since I began my current job back in late 2006 that I haven't been doing much real reading (besides comic books) at all. This is rather strange to me since I've always enjoyed reading and up until that point, I would usually be carrying around a book or three about various topics of interest. So, in an attempt to return to that favorite of habits, I went out recently and bought a few books. Here are the two I am reading now:

Kind of old, I know. I actually went through this book somewhat half-assedly about a year and a half ago but am now trying to give it a more thorough reading. I'll post my comments about it when I am finished.

Also, as I can never seem to read just one book at once, here is the other one I am currently reading:

This seems to be a rather well written book and offers up some pretty good ideas against globalization. I can't comment too much as I am only through the first chapter or so, but so far it seems like it will be a most interesting read indeed.

What are you guys reading lately?

(porno doesnt count)

Ha..Another thing you get from me. Your love of books. However, I am old and no longer thirst for knowledge in my reading material. I do however read multiple books at a time. I am currently reading:

The Quiet Game by Greg Iles, Echo Burning by Lee Child and Double Take by Catherine Coulter

I have also recently discovered this great place called a library so instead of buying 3 to 4 books every time I go shopping...I go to the library and check out 1/2 a dozen books at a time….FOR FREE.

Brother Enemy by Nayan Chanda and Koreans by Michael Breen. I'm also trying to quit The Two Koreas by Oberdorfer.

It must be a family tradition. I too am currently reading more then one book.

One Door Away From Heaven by Dean Koontz, Shiver by Lisa Jackson, Silent Counsel by Jeb Isaacson and Lights Out Tonight by Mary Jane Clark.

Silent Counsel is a true story about a hit an drun that killed a child while breaking in his new BMW Z4. He, through his Attorney will only come forward as long as he is not charge for the murder of the child. The prosecutor will not make a deal nor will they even try to find out who the person who commited this crime is because they feel that it is not worth their time.

The books that I read, peolple usually loan them to me so I don't have to by.

I just finished Blood Meridian for the third time. Every read is a new experience. I'm also (and always) reading the Civil War trilogy by Shelby Foote. Right now I'm halfway through the 800 page first volume. It's the summer of 1862 and Generals Grant and Beauregard are fightin' it up in Tennessee and Mississippi, trying to gain control of the Mississippi River. I'm also bringing two books with me on vacation: The Plot Against America by Philip Roth and some British book Glen has about China and cholera.
